About us
St. Theresa’s Secondary School Enugu- ukwu was founded on 3rd September 2003, by Rev. Fr. Christopher Okoli, the then parish priest of St. Theresa Catholic Church Enugu-ukwu. The School started as St. Theresa’s International College, Enugu-ukwu with Junior Secondary School streams I and II with a total of 80 students and staff strength of 5. The school was officially approved on 6th Febuary 2006 by the Anambra State Ministry of Education and was re-christened St. Theresa’s Junior Secondary School, Enugu-ukwu. The school continued to make steady progress and by the beginning of the 2007/2008 Academic school year, the school has been upgraded into a private a private mission Junior and Secondary school by the Anambra State Ministry of Education. This necessitate to another change of name to St. Theresa’s Secondary School, Enugu-ukwu which it bears till date. The approval to present Senior Secondary School Certificate Exam candidates by the school was given on 20th August 2010 by the Anambra State Ministry of Education while the first WAEC exam was taken in May/June, 2011.
The school also sought and got approval for presentation of candidates for NECO Exams in October 2013 and the school presented her first set of candidates for the NECO exams in June/July 2014. The school has excelled greatly in academics (internal and external), morals, sports, academic competitions(quiz, debates,etc) and other extra-curricular activities. The school currently has a staff strength of 37 and a student population of 470. It has a standard library, well equipped laboratories, well furnished offices, two school buses, a borehole and three power-generating sets. It also boasts of a 2-storey permanent building and another 2-storey laboratory/school hall building near completion. The current manager/principal of the school is Rev. Fr. John Paul Chukwuelobe under whose leadership the school has undergone tremendous transformation.
